Phase 2: Vertical slice
Build out a small experience with the important moving parts. A web-based multiplayer game, where you can bop around with your friends and blow up some bad guys. This will put it in people's hands so we can get feedback. Now we can show people the project instead of telling them about it.
Phase 3: Move to scale
Start building out the back end. I wouldn't say... "massive" necessarily, but it could be pretty big! During this phase we can start building out in game features, sign-ins, accounts, a cosmetic shop,
Phase 4: Features
So many exciting ideas: neutral npc's, missions, dynamic battlefront, upgrades, avatars, anomalies, space whales, pilotable ships for other factions.
Phase 5: Player Creativity
Add a mission editor, and allow players to run custom missions. Integrate player shops for custom skins, ships, missions, avatars and more.
Phase 5.5 Outreach
Reach out to educational institutions, integrate with emotional learning curriculum, promote communication skills.
